Delaware Elite Coaches and Volunteers strengthen youth by building character through track and field training. Our Coaches model and mentor character values, sportsmanship, teamwork, and track and field skills. Our Coaches have the ability to teach and coach athletes of all ages and abilities. 

We come from diverse backgrounds including USATF Certified Coaches & Officials, Former Track & Field All American Collegiate Athletes, State track & field record holders, Strength & Conditioning Specialists & Trainers, Youth Mentors and so much more.

PARTICIPANT COVID PROCEDURES ACKNOWLEDGMENT

As a requirement prior to participating in indoor activities with Delaware Elite track club, I specifically acknowledge as a precondition to participation that:

  • I will not attend the event if I am feeling sick, have a body temperature of 99 degrees or higher, and/or if I have had recent contact (14 days) with a person with COVID-19.

  • I will not attend the event if I am showing symptoms of, or have tested positive for COVID-19.

  • I will abide by any “check-in” procedures required by Delaware Elite Track Club before participating in the event. These procedures, including temperature checks at venue entry, are intended for the health and safety of the Coaches and athletes/persons at our facility.

  • I will not share my equipment with others (except any field event that is being used during the event).

  • I will use hand sanitizer or wash my hands, if asked.

  • I will strive to maintain social distancing (six feet apart) during the event in which I am participating and will comply with any and all requests by Delaware Elite track club coaches, trainers or counsellors to maintain these distancing requests.

    These specific Acknowledgments do not specifically limit my obligation to abide by any other rules in places by Delaware Elite Track club

Q: What should my child drink during practice & meets? Do they need something extra to avoid dehydration?

A: Everyone needs to stay hydrated to stay healthy, and you can't go wrong giving kids plain water; but what about kids who run track & field? Check out these hydration articles:

Q: Where can I see the track schedule?

A: Select the Schedule link at the top of this page to see the start dates for practice. Track meet schedules will be found within the Team Snap calendar.

Q: How can I join the track club?

A: Select the Registration link at the top of this page, to choose the appropriate track program for your athlete(s). You must complete the registration in its entirety, including payment prior to receiving an email response.

  • Note: Even if you are a returning athlete, in order for your athlete to be rostered properly (to receive notifications associated with a Team/Division) you must re-register via Sport Engine every season.

  • DO NOT use the Cashapp to Register your athlete; Sports Engine is THE ONLY WAY to register your athlete.

Q: What should I do after registering my athlete?

A: On your smartphone, download and install Sports Engine (iPhone or Android). Create an account, and search for “Delaware Elite Track” as the team to join, in order to receive up-to-date team communications.

Q: Where should my child practice?

A: Practice will take place at the location you register your child; but are not limited to the location: Dover, Newark, Smyrna or Wilmington.

Q: What should my child wear to practice?

A: All athletes should bring running sneakers, wind/sweat pants and long sleeve sweat/shirts. A pair of shorts &/or t-shirt should also be worn underneath as a layer. Practice is about keeping the muscles warm and away from injury.

Q: Where & How can I pay for track meets?

A: The Cashapp app can be used in fulfilling payment. Within Cash App please send payments to: $DelawareEliteTrack (please utilize the dollar sign before the name, no spaces) In the subject list child’s name and itemize the desired events.

Q: Will a coach contact me?

A: A parent committee member will contact you if there is a specific question not found within this site. When practice begins, coaches will be at practice sites to answer any additional questions.

Q: How can I submit my child's birth certificate?

A: Email with "Subject: [athlete name] birth certificate" a readable copy/picture of your child's birth certificate to: delaware.elite.tc@gmail.com   --   DO NOT BRING ORIGINAL OR COPY OF CERTIFICATE TO PRACTICE

Q: Can I apply for financial aid?

A: All financial aid applications are reviewed, and the limited amount of financial funds are available on a first come first served basis.

Q: How do I know if my child can participate in the advanced program?

A: The athlete must meet minimum standards through time trials, and the decision of the coaching staff will notify the parent & athlete(s) on the Elite Program acceptance.
